September 6th. The beginning of the story…

How did our spirits intertwine so deeply that my heart feels now half of what it once was
my tears become their own being
I wake up in pools of this sadness
The sleep does not come for many nights
I am praying to a million gods and grasping for the lessons you taught me

When I was a young girl child so many lifetimes ago

You always held me, very gently from the very first time
pushing my hair gently between your soft hands until sleep
There are no words that comfort the weight of this drowning
I have  pressed my forehead to the coolness of the floor and begged
To see you again
You come only in dreams
Wearing a purple scarf, arms clasped around my waist
And you are kissing my tears…
Was there ever anyone that saw my heart and knew it so very deeply
How you guided me through this journey to woman
Each step always whispering gently as my guide, your hand on the small of my back
About the beauty of the ancient architecture
Of paintings, art, wine
Making magic for me in every city and every street corner
Even when we were fighting and screaming like mad lovers
Screaming about love and confusion and the webs we had weaved
The stories that always led us back to these moments…
I had prayed with my breath and my heart to find you
One that could understand my nature of my song, my tender darkness
You were never afraid of the darkness my friend and yet you always held me in the light

We became stained into each other

Our stories separate across oceans and then meeting to mingle for grand adventures
I wonder if I will search my life looking for the other half of us
I keep looking to the trees and to the water to find you
I walk the craggy shores of the ocean I scream out to you
I am diving down to the depths of the endless abyss, I am searching for the words for our story
And yet I can’t find the beautiful words to define us

A paper lantern burns bright into the sky and I cry out from the depths of myself  and I see you brilliant as you rise above the ocean and to the stars

In every picturesque back drop, there we were

My beautiful friend,
As the sun was turning gold in Paris, you looked at me and said… is this even real?
As the opera music played in the back round and we walked hand in hand to the other side
May we remain there forever
